Colorado has announced a temporary exemption related to Hours of Service  (HOS) for fuel transporters.  Previously this exemption was to expire on January 31, 2023, however, it is now extended to March 2, 2023.  This effort is consistent with surrounding states as well.

Due to an imminent fuel shortage for gasoline and diesel fuels, the state has also approved the same exemption for commercial transporters of gasoline and diesel. This exemption applies to commercial transporters that are hauling heating fuels, propane, natural gas, gasoline, and diesel products while all other federal and State regulations still apply.  Additionally, carriers are responsible for monitoring their drivers for fatigue, alcohol, and controlled substances.
