OSHA Makes Changes to the Targeted Workplace Inspection Program

INNOVISE-OSHA-MAKES-CHANGES

OSHA has replaced its 2016 Site-Specific Targeting (SST) directive for non-construction establishments with 20 or more employees.  The directive has the agency focusing enforcement resources on companies with the highest injury and illness rates.

OSHA now targets inspections for companies with increased trending of DART (cases with Days Away, Restricted, or Transferred duties) rates from 2017 to 2019.  This targeting list is generated from employer-submitted data and focuses on the highest rates.

This change went into effect on December 14, 2020.
